, Manivel MURUGESAN, Ramanathan SIVAKUMAR, , Palani LAKSHMANAN, · Electrotehnica, Electronica, Automatica · 2026

A study and exploration of multilevel inverter topologies based on switching capacitors, single sources, and multi-sources are included in this paper. The most common applications for multilevel inverters are medium-voltage, high-power conversion devices such material transport drives, fans, pumps, renewable energy systems, adjustable speed drives and electric vehicles. This dynamic subject covers a variety of inverter topologies, operations, circuits, advantages, downsides and calculations of total standing voltage and cost function. The various topologies such as reduced switch count, switched capacitor, cascaded H bridge, hybrid H bridge, new hybrid H Bridge, flying-capacitor, and diode-clamped multilevel inverter topologies have all been covered. Comparative study based on sources, driver circuits, capacitors, diodes, switches, total standing voltage, and cost function has been used to evaluate a number of multilayer inverter.
