Defining Red Lines: Philosophical and Legal Analysis of ’Prohibited Artificial Intelligence Practices’ in Artificial Intelligence Law

As artificial intelligence increasingly permeates everyday life—acting as both a developmental ally and a skilled mediator of human thought—the European Union has responded with the AI Act. This legislation aims to categorize AI systems based on the risk and influence they exert on society. However, this integration raises a critical question: is the seamless embedding of AI into our daily existence compatible with society’s ethical framework? Are there legislative and philosophical "red lines" that can function organically within the AI Act to ensure society feels protected against culturally and socially evolving AI systems? Furthermore, can society, through data and AI literacy, determine these red lines independently and reinforce their value?
