Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping the practice of dentistry by enhancing diagnostic precision, improving treatment planning, and streamlining clinical workflows. In primary care dental settings, AI-based radiographic interpretation, predictive analytics, and patient engagement tools offer significant potential to strengthen early detection, preventive care, and continuity of services. This editorial highlights the key applications of AI, including diagnostics, prosthodontic design, orthodontic prediction, patient communication, and administrative automation. It also discusses ethical challenges such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the importance of clinician oversight. As dentistry moves toward a digital, precision-oriented future, responsible and evidence-based integration of AI will be essential to ensuring high-quality, equitable, and patient-centered oral health care.
