Using silver diamine fluoride and glass ionomer cement (SMART-Silver Modified Atraumatic Restorative Treatment) in pediatric dentistry can provide a cost-effective, fast, and non-invasive approach to restoring cavities. Silver diamine fluoride is a liquid fluoride that prevents cavity-causing germs from spreading. This can be paired with glass ionomer cement to fill cavities and restore tooth structure.
