Variant Vascular Anatomy

Knowledge of vascular anatomy is critical for successful vascular surgery. In this chapter, we review the most common variants of arterial and venous anatomy that should be familiar to vascular clinicians. Variants that are seen most frequently are emphasized and others that are less common, but critical to be aware of, are discussed as well. We describe and highlight the clinical relevance of these anomalies. Images of cases we have encountered in practice will be presented as examples.
