Assessment of the oxidative effect of non-thermal argon plasma on the surface of a ferrosulfate dosimeter

Currently, non-thermal argon plasma is actively used for the purpose of disinfection in the agriculture and food industry by treating the surfaces of meat, poultry, vegetables, fruits. Most often, argon acts as a carrier gas, since it has a number of advantages, the main of which is its cheapness. To measure absorbed doses, chemical dosimeters are used, including the Fricke ferrosulfate dosimeter. The paper considers the regularities of changes in oxidative properties during plasma treatment of a ferrosulfate solution of a Fricke dosimeter with different layer thicknesses. During the impact of non-thermal argon plasma on the solution of the Fricke dosimeter, it was established that this treatment method can be used in the fight against surface contamination of biological objects due to the ability of plasma to inactivate microorganisms.
