Birds’ nest inspires design of thermally efficient bricks printed from plastic waste

Thermally efficient bricks inspired by weaver birds’ nests have been three-dimensionally printed from upcycled waste plastic. With ten times better insulation than clay bricks, Karthikeyan Kandan of De Montfort University in the UK says they offer big environmental and economic benefits.
