Project management of Greenwich peninsula

Getting the Greenwich peninsula site ready for the millennium exhibition was a probably the stiffest management test yet for the government's urban regeneration agency, English Partnerships. It was only given the derelict wasteland at the end of 1996, yet the completion date and subsequently agreed £185 million budget were absolutely fixed. Furthermore, infrastructure requirements of the exhibition were constantly changing as its design developed—requiring a flexible, dynamic and co-operative working relationship between all parties involved. This paper describes how that relationship was created and sustained and how it led to completion of the project ontime and under budget.
