Time for the UK construction industry to become Lean

In the current economic climate the UK construction industry needs to start with a blank canvas and rethink its strategy in order to become more innovative, efficient and effective. This paper identifies the current state of the industry and establishes a method for eliminating waste and improving efficiency. Adoption of a ‘Lean’ culture will enable the industry to become more innovative and deliver better value for money. Lean is a proven technique that eliminates non-value activities and enhances those that do add value, thus providing more efficient and costeffective solutions.
