Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have the potential to transform the delivery of health care. Digital Healthcare, a report published by the Royal Society (2006), identifies some of the exciting developments which we can expect over the next decade. It also points out that realizing ICTs' potential depends on the people who use them—and that includes nurses.
