The New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) represents 60% of nurses in New Zealand and one third of general practice nurses are members (Docherty, personal communication). The NZNO has a Practice Nurse Section which has a similar role to that of the RCNs Practice Nurse Association. Marion Guy has recently been re-elected as Chair of the Practice Nurse Section and, with her Executive Committee, represents the interests of practice nursing at a national level within New Zealand.
