The British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) is a registered charity, which was founded in 1937. It is well represented within the Royal Colleges and is internationally represented at world and European levels. There are now over 3000 members within the United Kingdom (UK), including physicians, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, scientists, nurses and dietitians. Over 800 of these members are affiliated to the Endoscopy Associates Group and include registered nurses, specialists, endoscopists and dietitians, all involved within the field of endoscopy and gastroenterology. The aim of the Endoscopy Associates Group (EAG) is the advancement of gastroenterology and endoscopy nursing and the promotion of friendship among those with similar interests.
