Increasing pressure on neurology services to meet service recovery targets is placing strain on existing services. Sue Thomas outlines how new roles such as the care co-ordinator and neuro navigator are emerging, and highlights how these posts can be used to provide greater capacity for existing neurology services. This article urges nurses to embrace these additions to the workforce, rather than seeing these roles as a threat to neurology nursing.
