Dementia, assisted dying, euthanasia

This article discusses assisted suicide and euthanasia in relation to dementia. It presents some broad arguments against any form of ‘assisted dying’. But then focuses on advance euthanasia directives as used in the Netherlands and the case of ‘coffee euthanasia’. Decision-making capacity and the possibility of coercion are briefly discussed. Lord Walton's robust support of the prohibition of intentional killing concludes the article.
