Approved provider scheme

Headway—the brain injury association has received substantial funding from the Innovation, Excellence and Service Development Fund, to set up an accreditation service, which is intended to benefit its service users. Over the next 3 years Headway will be setting up an Approved Provider scheme—similar to the Preferred Provider scheme already provided by the MS Society for respite services in nursing and residential homes. The Headway scheme will differ slightly in that it will set standards for nursing homes, residential homes, transitional living units and those providing respite to someone that has sustained a brain injury.
