The need to understand end-of-life care

Policy concerning end-of-life care has increased significantly over the last few years and quite rightly now includes specific reference to people with neurological problems. Around 500 000 people die in England each year and statistics show that the average age at death is increasingly becoming older. With older age comes a raised incidence of neurological disease and so neuroscience nurses should be aware of policy to promote good end-of-life care.
