Election promises for long-term care funding

During the recent round of political party conferences health care has been high on the agenda. Long-term care has been targeted as a policy priority by both Labour and Conservative parties, which will have potential implications for many patients with long-term neurological conditions and their families. Currently anyone in need of long-term residential care has to pay for the costs of that care if they have assets in excess of £23 000.
