Revisiting anatomy and physiology

Sue Woodward · British Journal of Neuroscience Nursing · 2008

Over the last few months I have been working extremely hard with Ann-Marie Mestecky to edit together a new comprehensive neuroscience nursing textbook to be published by Blackwell Publishing next year: a British ‘Hickey’, so to speak, only better. This experience can only be described as a labour of love that has taken over our lives, but it has also been a salutary experience and has brought home to me once again how difficult it is for us all to keep up to date with recent developments in the field of neurosciences. While many neuroscience nurses specialize in one particular disease entity, the majority of us have to keep up to date with a whole range of sub-specialities as we work in either neurology, neurosurgery, neurocritical care or even neuroscience nursing education.
