Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common debilitating neurological condition affecting young adults in the UK. MS is an autoimmune condition in which the central nervous system comes under attack. Although the exact cause and mechanisms of MS are not fully understood, damage to the brain and spinal cord causes a large and unpredictable range of symptoms, which can vary over time.
