Using benchmarking to improve standards of care

Benchmarking within neuroscience nursing has been growing for over 10 years. We have a number of regional groups who feed back into the national group (3 meetings a year) in order that each regional group takes on the responsibility of developing particular evidence-based benchmarks and there is no reinvention of the wheel. Review dates are set for completed benchmarks (2 years from completion), and another region will review that benchmark for new developments in practice.
