I am writing to you to raise awareness about a very important issue related to the care of patients with debilitating neurological conditions such as motor neurone disease: communication. It is, in my mind, one of the most important skills in nursing but one which many of us neglect. I would also like to appeal for more articles relating to this disease, not only for my personal interest but because I feel that nurses working in the field of neurology would really benefit from more information about this relatively rare, but extremely cruel, disease. Your journal is extremely informative but I do feel that motor neurone disease has been rather neglected over the last few months.
