Historical origins of neuroscience nursing in the UK

Thomas Aird · British Journal of Neuroscience Nursing · 2005

This article considers the origins of neuroscience nursing in the UK. Using both primary and secondary sources, the role of the National Hospital is highlighted. The hospital is often associated with medical advances in neurology and neurosurgery but less is written about nursing. Material tends to be descriptive and makes little attempt at analysis regarding the impact nursing has made upon the development of the specialism.
