Abstract New regulations propose a more stringent limit to the radiation exposure of workers and members of the public. The shielding in X-ray areas will have to be reassessed to take account of these new limits. This technical note identifies a computerized technique for evaluating shielding requirements which yields results that are significantly more cost effective than those determined by traditional methods.
