The Use of Short-acting Muscle Relaxants in Radiology

Techniques for the use of short acting muscle relaxant drugs in paediatric bronchography and angiocardiography are described. In bronchography, even when there is much bronchial secretion present, radiographs may be obtained free from respiratory movement and in two phases of respiration. Bronchiectatic changes tend to be more obvious in films taken in expiration. In angiocardiography the short duration and lack of medullary or direct cardiac effects ensures minimal disturbance of the general condition of the subject.
