Mechanical vibration: R. E. D. Bishop's contribution to the <i>Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science</i>

Abstract R. E. D. Bishop was one of the founders of the Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science ( JMES ). He was a member of the journal's Editorial Panel for 27 years. This is an appreciation of his contribution to the formation and success of the Journal.
