Abstract Background The percentage of repeated images reflects both image quality and the unnecessary exposure of patients to X-rays. Before the digitalization of radiology systems, studying image repetition was common. However, since the transition to digital radiography, there have been fewer studies on this subject, likely because many believe that digital technology has removed the problem of image repetition. Aim of the study This study aimed to investigate the rate of repeat radiographs in the digital radiography (DR) imaging department and its reasons. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on radiographs taken during morning and evening shifts at two hospitals in April and May 2025.
