Accidents-A Major Public Health Problem

Injuries rank above disease as a major cause of death in many groups in society. Using New Zealand data, this article shows that accidents are a major public health problem. It is suggested that this problem can only be solved by using a multidisciplinary approach. The factors involved in this approach are discussed and presented in the form of a fatal injury equation.
