Social science research on cyberspace should concentrate on theory development, a national baseline survey of current networking practices, ethnographic case studies of businesses and other networked organizations, the implications of the National Information Infrastructure and multimedia technology for education, and policy options for mitigating socioeconomic and other inequalities that new communication and information technologies exacerbate.
