Computers, Economic Modeling, and Politics: A Review of the Literature

Based on an extensive review of the literature on economic modeling and politics in the Western industrialized democracies, this article addresses the impacts of computerized economic models on political decision-making processes. Covering a broad area of research, the article addresses what different implications computerized models have compared to pen-and-paper-based models and how economic modeling differs from any other (expert-based) tools/aids in the decision-making processes.
