An Evolving Teaching Laboratory for First-Year Students of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The paper describes the philosophy, design and operation of an established laboratory course where a more realistic assessment of the student ability/progress has been possible using a scheme which gives improved staff-student contact. The educational advantages of the scheme are also mentioned and discussed briefly.
