An original, introductory approach to the teaching of electronic circuits in the laboratory is described, based on the amplifier as the fundamental building block. Students are first required to assemble two amplifiers, on printed cards, without the need for a complete understanding of the circuit details. These amplifiers are then used for various experiments.
