International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education · 1970

Readers will already have learnt of the death, on 17th February 1970, of Lord Jackson of Burnley, until recently Professor of Electrical Engineering and Pro-Rector of Imperial College, London. As Professor Willis Jackson, then at City and Guilds College, Imperial College, he was in 1948 the first chairman of the Advisory Panel of this Journal and for many years was concerned with its progress. As a valued adviser on educational policy and manpower to governmental bodies and as a distinguished member of the scientific and academic field his loss will be keenly felt both in the United Kingdom and overseas.
