Four cases of malignant transformation in fibrous dysplasia of bone are presented. Malignant changes presented structure of fibrosarcoma, osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, or mixed. In 1 case histological examination of available material indicated some tendency towards malignization, whereas radiological appearances, clinical course and pulmonary metastases revealed a major grade of malignancy. The problem of frequency of malignant transformation in fibrous dysplasia of bone is discussed and it is suggested that it may not be as infrequent as it appears from pertinent litearature of the subject.
