After an episode of intermittent fever which lasted 45 days, endocarditis of the tricuspid valve was diagnosed using M-mode echocardiography in a 17-year-old female patient who had no history of drug abuse. After unsuccessful therapy with ampicillin, tetracyline and aminoglycosides, clinical improvement was achieved by treatment with temocillin.
