"The Computer in Action" is a role-playing activity developed by the Computer Science Outreach program at Purdue University, in which students process instructions and data in the same way that a real computer does. Students play the roles of Keyboarder, Bus Driver, CPU (The Brains), Math Wizard, Memory Manager, Print Manager, Screen Writer and User, carrying cards with instructions, values and messages to and from the Input, Processing and Output stations. The activity is designed for students in Kindergarten through Grade 3.
