Hypothermia‐induced triphasic waves

AbstractA 79‐year‐old Japanese woman was admitted to our hospital with consciousness disturbance and difficulty in moving. On admission, her core temperature was 28°C. Electroencephalography showed slow waves and frontal‐dominant triphasic waves. After rewarming, her symptoms and electroencephalography abnormality disappeared. Triphasic waves and their resembling appear in numerous cerebral diseases, for example, metabolic encephalopathy, antibiotic encephalopathy, and stroke; however, there are only a few case reports of hypothermia‐associated triphasic waves.
