This issue of News & Views will review results of clinical trials presented immediately prior to and during the 69th Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association meetings (November 10–13, 1996, New Orleans, LA, USA). Areas of focus include the importance of endothelial dysfunction in interventional cardiology, radiation used to treat restenosis following percutaneous coronary intervention, and new anti‐platelet agents used in preventing secondary events following the initial clinical manifestation of coronary artery disease.
