Abstract. Many cosmetic surgery procedures performed today were either developed or refined by dermatologic surgeons. The role played by dermatologic surgeons in the development of dermabrasion, hair transplantation, liposuction, blepharoplasty, face‐lift, cutaneous implants, fat transplantation, chemical peel, and sclerotherapy is described.
