AbstractThe preparation of a medico‐legal report is an exercise in communication between the emergency physician and the legal system. A proper request and informed consent are essential prior to commencing report preparation. A structured format incorporating elements of background information, medical history, physical examination, specimens obtained, treatment provided and opinion is suggested.
