LESLIE M. DUGDALE · Australasian Radiology · 1981

SUMMARYThe basic principles and techniques of medical decision making are outlined and illustrated. The techniques include ROC curve production, the use of the 2*2 Table, with its derivations, the use of Bayesian analysis to produce Predictive Values, and an introduction to Decision Trees and the use of Utilities. The necessity for a basic knowledge is stressed, particularly in light of current pressures on public and peer accountability.
