Some Radiological Features of the Cranial Fossae

SummaryUsing radio‐opaque wire and strips of thin lead, some of the anatomical features of the cranial fossae of dried skulls were examined radiographically and the findings correlated with the gross anatomy.Standard radiographic projections were used and several films were taken with the skull positioned in the Broadbent‐Bolton cephalo‐meter.A detailed knowledge of the anatomy of the cranial fossae is essential to accurately assess skull fractures and pathological bone changes.
