SUMMARYTechniques for localizing the foetal peritoneum, inserting a needle and through it a catheter, and finally confirming the correct placement of the catheter have been described and discussed. The need for keeping the radiation dosage to mother and foetus as low as possible and the importance of beam restriction in this regard have been stressed. Very small foetuses present special problems, but size alone is no contra‐indication for treatment.
