Chondro‐Angiopathia Calcarea Seu Punctata

Angus Robertson · Australasian Radiology · 1967

SummaryThree cases of chondro‐angiopathia calcarea seu punctata, diagnosed in infancy, are presented, the two surviving cases being followed for 13 and 14 1/2 years respectively. The radiological features are reviewed. The question of thyroid dysfunction is raised and in those cases showing progressive general debilitation the question of treatment directed at the thyroid is raised (Kremens et al.). Further studies of thyroid function and serum chemistry axe needed in this condition. The associated features offer a chance of clinical diagnosis, but the diagnosis is primarily radiological. The disease appears to be self‐limiting and the skeletal prognosis seems excellent.
