Midbody remnants released after cell division are cleared by LC3‐associated phagocytosis. Actin filaments (LifeAct::RFP, magenta) polymerize to form a phagocytic cup around the midbody remnant (non‐muscle myosin NMY‐2::GFP, yellow) during internalization in a 4‐cell C. elegans embryo. The midbody phagosome then matures by recruiting Rab GTPases (GFP::RAB‐5, cyan) and LC3.
