Zebrafish embryos from the transgenic line huORFZ were exposed to hypoxia and thenincubated with BrdU during recovery time. All GFP‐expressing subtype cells survived after hypoxic stress. These GFP(+) cells shown in the spinalcord were localized with BrdU red signal, suggesting they were proliferative after stress. Additionally, we further found that they were able to migrate and differentiate into functional neurons.
