Competition assays for miR‐490‐5p whose over‐expression reduces ccRCC fitness. ACHN cells were infected lentiviruses expressing either mCherry or EGFP. EGFP‐expressing cells were then infected with a lentivirus expressing miR‐490‐5p. The EGFP (miR‐490‐5p or control) cells were mixed with mCherry‐control cells at ∼1:1 ratio. The cells were then passaged for 16 cell doublings and the EGFP:mCherry ratio was again determined by microscopy.
