Legal safeguards for organoid intelligence in economic law

Abstract This study aims to elucidate the role of organoid intelligence in the contemporary context characterized by the “three transformations” of networking, datafication, and intelligentization. The development of intelligent technologies is permeating various fields, blurring boundaries that were once distinct, including those not traditionally covered by legal studies. As highlighted in this study, Organoid intelligence exemplifies the potentially transformative impact of intelligent technologies across economic and legal domains. By analyzing the current state of legal research and institutional design in relation to advanced intelligent technologies, this study reveals a persisting gap between existing legal frameworks and the rapid advancements in technology. It points out that traditional legal approaches, with their limited capacity for inclusion, tend to impose constraints or denials on emerging technologies. The study argues that economic legal systems must adopt a more inclusive and affirming stance to drive the development of organoid intelligence and other intelligent technologies as new quality productivity.
