Xiaohua Zhu · Nursing Open · 2025

Methods Searches were done in Scopus, Google Scholar, Embase, Cochrane trials library, Medline and Chinese databases from 1964 until February 2024. Results Nursing interventions significantly reduced postoperative pain (SMD = −3.088; 95% CI: −4.635 to −1.541) and overall postoperative complications (OR = 0.267; 95% CI: 0.184–0.389). Significant reductions were also observed in infection rates (OR = 0.279; 95% CI: 0.106–0.738), swelling (OR = 0.197; 95% CI: 0.091–0.425), and urinary retention (OR = 0.282; 95% CI: 0.127–0.622).
