Penicillium sp. isolated from buckwheat leaves were identified on the basis of conversion of rutin to quercetin. The best performing isolated showed conidiophores of 2.4 to 4.5 μm in length and the typical morphology of Penicillium conidiophores. (Micrograph see Zheng et al., this issue)
