AbstractThe permeance coefficient of actuators and motors with permanent magnets depends primarily on the effective magnetic flux density and the magnetomotive force. A finite‐element technique is used to calculate the torque and electromagnetic force from the permeance based on the magnetic flux density distribution. The calculation results are consistent with measurements and with calculated values obtained by other methods. The permeance coefficient at the operating point, which is a performance characteristic of actuators, is estimated.
